Our skin is hydrated by a natural moisturiser called Hyaluronic acid. It is a carbohydrate rather than an acid. As we age the deeper layers of our skin loose fatty tissue structure also our production of Hyaluronic acid diminishes. As as result of loosing fatty tissue structure and moisture, the skin starts to ‘sag’. Common signs of ageing include nasio-labial folds or marionette lines. Dermal fillers are essentially ‘Hyaluronic acid’ and they work simply by attracting water to these sites, plumping up and supporting the skin again to give it a younger look and feel.
